Who we are

Just Try is operated by Tiantian Feng, an individual developer ("we", "us" or "our"). This policy covers our international Android app and this support website at justtry.transcendsky.com.

Information we collect

Guest identity and profile

The app creates a random credential for your installation, and our service links it to an independent user ID. We use this identity, session information, your nickname and profile preferences to keep your records together. Guest use does not mean that no information is collected.

The current app does not require Google, WeChat or email sign-in. If you use an older account-based version, its username and protected password-verification record may also be stored. We do not store passwords as plain text.

Your activities and choices

We store activities you save or mark as tried, ratings, written reflections, recommendation preferences, "not interested" feedback, and records of recommendations and interactions processed by the service. These support your library, personalization and service reliability.

Photos you choose to upload

For activities supporting personal covers, you may choose a photo after marking the activity as tried. The photo is uploaded to our server and linked to your records. It is shown as your personal cover, not published to other users. Uploaded images are re-encoded to remove embedded metadata such as EXIF location information.

Technical and support information

Our server and network providers process IP addresses, request times, requested paths, response status, client information and diagnostic or security records when you connect. If you contact support, we receive your email address, message and anything you choose to attach.

The current Android app does not request precise device location, contacts, microphone access or broad photo-library access. It uses the system photo picker for photos you choose. A photo itself can still reveal personal information, so choose what you upload carefully.

How we use information

  • Deliver activities, maintain your guest identity and synchronize records with the service.
  • Remember saved and tried activities, reflections and personal covers.
  • Personalize recommendations when enabled, and respect your feedback.
  • Maintain reliability, understand use of the service, prevent abuse and investigate errors.
  • Answer support messages and handle privacy or deletion requests.

We do not sell your personal data or use it for targeted advertising. The current app has no advertising SDK or third-party analytics SDK.

Service providers and sharing

Our cloud hosting providers store and process the service database, media and restricted backups. Cloudflare provides network delivery and security and processes traffic passing through its network. Our email provider processes messages you send to support. These providers receive information needed to deliver their services.

Our editorial workflow uses AI services to help create general activity descriptions and illustrations. The current workflow does not send your uploaded personal photos, private reflections or guest profile to those models.

We may disclose information if needed to comply with applicable law, a valid legal request, or to protect users and the service. Personal activity records and covers are not a public social feed.

Our international service and providers may process information outside your country. For Cloudflare's practices, see its privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

Your profile and activity records

Your installation identity, nickname, saved and tried activities, ratings, reflections, preferences and personal covers stay in the live service until you remove them or delete your data. Uninstalling the app does not send us a deletion request.

Short-lived records

Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days and expired sessions are cleaned up. Recommendation delivery records are cleaned up after 7 days, and the service's event-history records after 90 days. Related activity records and records used to safely process repeated requests may remain until you delete your data.

Security and operational records

Our server access and error logs are rotated daily, with up to 14 archived log files. On quiet days, logs may not rotate, so this is not a guaranteed 14-day limit. Cloudflare and our infrastructure providers also process operational data under their own retention practices. Logs are not automatically erased by the in-app delete action.

Backups and deletion safeguards

Restricted backups may contain earlier copies of your records and photos. They are retained for recovery until manually replaced or retired; there is currently no fixed automatic expiry. Deleting live data does not immediately rewrite those backups. A minimal deleted-user marker is retained to stop older requests from recreating deleted records. It contains no nickname, activity history, reflections or photos.

If you request deletion, we will explain any remaining backup or security retention that applies to your request. Restoration must preserve prior deletion decisions before the restored service is reopened.

Support messages

If you email us, we retain the correspondence for handling your request and any necessary follow-up or dispute resolution. You can also ask us to delete support correspondence, subject to records we need to keep for security or applicable legal requirements.

For the steps and scope of deletion, visit Delete your data.

Your choices and requests

You can change your nickname, remove saved activities, undo tried activities, restore a default cover and change personalized recommendation settings in the app. Photos and reflections are optional.

You can delete your guest data from My → My data → Delete my data, or initiate a request from our deletion page. You do not need to reinstall the app to email a request.

Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of information, object to or restrict processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact ; we may need to verify your relationship to the records. You may also contact your local data protection authority.

Guest records belong to this installation.

Uninstalling, clearing app data or changing devices currently removes your access to the original guest identity. We cannot reliably recover or identify every lost guest record from an email address or nickname alone.

Security and this website

App and website traffic uses HTTPS. Guest credentials are protected locally using Android's secure storage facilities. Server administration is access-controlled and personal photo requests require authentication. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

These public pages do not set first-party analytics or advertising cookies and do not include third-party tracking scripts. Our network provider may use security mechanisms to protect the website. Clicking an email link opens your own email application; no message is sent merely by visiting a page.

Children’s information

The app does not ask you to provide a date of birth. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact . We will review the request and take appropriate steps under applicable law.

Changes and contact

We update this policy when our practices change and show the revised date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent for material changes.
